These animated characters include a squirrel, the skunk, a few possums, a family of porcupines, and few more other animals. The erection of a hedge through the forest indicates the entry of human beings to which the animals are averse. They foresee the deprivation of food supply due to the presence of the hedge. The entry of the racoon RJ adds on to their woes. How the animated characters handle the twists and turmoil of life in the forest is what “Over the Hedge” is all about.
